It’s finally here! The Big Show. The US Coffee Championships are descending upon Kansas City, Missouri this weekend to figure out who will be making it to the World Championships taking place next month in Boston. While the focus will be on the competitors, who have already been put through the wringer in Qualifying Event rounds in Denver and Nashville a few months back, spectators and attendees need not worry about growing bored.
This weekend is jam packed with events both in and outside the convention center space for all to enjoy. If you’re not having a good time, you’re not trying hard enough, but to make things nice and easy we’ve compiled this here list of all goings-on this weekend for your party-planning enjoyment. Free Morning Yoga: Taking place inside the Kansas City Convention Center, classes will be led by instructor Heather Rama. The 7:00am class will focus on feet, knees, hips, and lower back, and the 8:00am class will focus on wrist, elbows, knees, and lower back. Bring a yoga mat.
Community Coffee Celebration: Join La Marzocco, Oatly, Dona Chai, Coffee People, Spirit Tea, and Fellow Products in a celebration of the US coffee community. There will be tacos, cocktails, and dancing. Taking place at Monarch Coffee, 2550 Broadway. 7:00pm-10:30pm
Chopped: Barista Edition: Quay Coffee and Hugo Tea are teaming up to put on a coffee version of Food Network cooking show Chopped. Baristas will be given mystery ingredients and asked to create signature drinks on the spot. Taking place at the Nelson-Atkins Museum of Art, 4525 Oak St. 6:15pm
