World of Coffee at Messe Berlin kicks off this week on Thursday, June 6th featuring the World Latte Art Championship, World Coffee in Good Spirits Championship, World Cup Tasters Championship, and the Cezve/Ibrik Championship.

Wednesday, June 5

World of Coffee Launch Party: Start the extended weekend off right with the official launch party. Taking place at Dog Tab Berlin (formerly Stone Brewing), come socialize with fellow coffee professionals for a night of good times. There will be a “cash bar and authentic German food trucks onsite.” Taking place at Dog Tab Berlin. 7pm to 10pm. Free to attend, but registration is required.

Secret Garden Pop-Up: Join The Barn as they team up with Probat for a whole host of pop-up festivities. Taking place between June 5th and 8th, the duo will host lots of “workshops, lectures, panel discussions, and roasting with music in the evenings!” Taking place at Secret Garden. Free to enter.

Sponsored by Ally Coffee and Oatly, the Challenge the Champ Throwdown pits you against the likes of 2017 World Latte Art Champion Arnon Thitiprasert, 2009 World Barista Champion Gwylim Davies, 2018 World Brewers Cup Champion Emi Fukahori, and many many more in head-to-heat coffee combat. Sommer Gartenparty: 19grams Coffee has joined forces with Ikawa for a Sommer Gartenparty. Taking place at 19grams Alex cafe and roastery space, the event features a “quick-fire Alternative Cup Tasters Championship…, summer games, drinks in the garden, great tunes and of course, the chance to talk hot air.” The first few hours are invite only, so make sure to stop either company’s WOC booth to grab an invitation (and an extra drink token). Taking place at 19grams Alex. 6pm to 10pm. Free to attend.
