Welcome to Day One of the World Barista Championship here in Boston, Massachusetts! We’re going to see 28 competitors across three stages in a jam packed, whip-fast seven hours of barista action. This year’s WBC added a live scoring element, giving the day’s routines more of a sense of immediacy. Competitors eyes are all affixed to screens in hopes of finding out if their Semi-Finals dreams were still alive. We’ll be updating this post with live scores and competitor photos as they happen so stay tuned!
Make sure you are following along with us over at Sprudge Live for coverage all weekend long, and be sure to follow @SprudgeLive on Twitter and @Sprudge on Instagram for coverage even more coffee competition content. Our much-loved Live Tweet coverage of the event will begin once things get a little less crowded on Saturday.
All of SprudgeLive’s 2019 competition coverage is made possible by Acaia, Baratza, Faema, Cafe Imports, Wilbur Curtis, Third Wave Water, Minor Figures, and Mahlkönig.
