The 2019 US Coffee Championships season is officially off and running! We’re winding our way towards the 2019 US Coffee Championships National Event in March, kicking things off in one of the country’s most exciting new coffee scenes: Denver, Colorado.
There’s a full docket of hot coffee action scheduled for the two-day competition taking place December 1st and 2nd at the National Western Complex. This year’s event includes returning competitions like the Barista Championship and Brewers Cup, new-to-Qualifying-Event-round contests Cup Tasters and Roasters Championship, and the first-ever USA appearance of the Coffee in Good Spirits competition.

Latte Art Throwdown: Allegro Coffee Roasters is hosting a winner-take-all (plus $200 provided by Allegro) throwdown at their Tennyson location. Sign-up begins at 6:30pm with the first pour at 7:00pm. $10 buy-in.
Friday, November 30th
Cropster Software Demo: Join the folks from Cropster as they demo their software and answer questions on how it can help manage a coffee business. The event takes place at Copper Door Coffee Roasters beginning at 11:00am.
Karaoke Throwdown: It’s “drinks and singing instead of rosettas and tulips” at Method Roasters’ Karaoke Battle. Proceeds go to Kat’s Top Surgery. Sign-up can be done through the event’s Facebook page (linked above). $10 buy-in. $7:00pm.

Apres Ski Party! For US Coffee Champs Crew: Ozo Coffee is hosting an 80’s-themed ski party at The Source, with “FREE BEER, drink tickets for craft cocktails, shot skis, and an ice luge.” The party gets started at 8:30pm.
Glitter Barista Championship II: Revenge of the Glitter: Get paired with another barista at random and join forces to create your best signature beverage. There will be free beer, prizes, and “lots of glitter!” Taking place at Huckleberry Roasters’ Pecos location, sign-up is $5 and can be done the day of. Doors at 7:00pm. Event begins at 7:30pm.

Latte Art Throwdown: Come pour tulips and rosettes to your heart’s content at Crema’s Larimer location. Beer for the event sponsored by Our Mutual Friend Brewing. $5 buy-in. Sign-up begins at 6:30pm with the first pour taking place at 7:30pm.
Monday, December 3rd
Barista Series: Small Changes, Big Impacts!: Pacific Barista Series presents a day of education, eating, and giving, with talks on small changes folks can make that will have a big impact. The event takes place at the Mile High Stadium and runs from 9:00am to 7:00pm.
Coffee From the Heart of Africa Cupping: Altas Importers have teamed up with Copper Door to host a cupping on a selection of their coffees from Rwanda, Burundi, Uganda, and the Congo. 11:00am.
Tuesday, December 4th
Red Fox Cupping @ Sweet Bloom: Red Fox Coffee Merchants and Sweet Bloom Coffee invite you to hang with us to cup coffees from Peru and Colombia. Stick around for beverages and snacks after the cupping. 3:00pm
