2020 US Coffee Championships Sumner Qualifying Event Rankings

We now know the first half of the field for the national rounds of the US Barista Championship and Brewers Cup. After two days of coffee action at the Sumner, Washington Qualifying Event where a sum total of 70 coffee professionals graced the two competition stages, the field has been narrowed by over half, with 33 folks punching their tickets to Orange County.

18 Barista Championship competitors—including the top six who have earned byes into the Semi-Finals at USBC—and 15 Brewers Cup competitors—with the top three earning a bye—are moving on, and there are a lot of familiar names on the list. It’s not over yet, though. There’s still the Nashville Qualifying Event to fill out the other half of the bracket, to say nothing of the actual US Coffee Championships happening later on in February. But for now, let’s take a look at the competitors who made over the first big hurdle and have a full head of steam heading into the national round.
